Essi is the Co-PI of the Reset project. She is particularly interested in trying to understand how our thoughts and emotions shape our social interactions and keen to use research findings to improve prevention of mental health problems in children and young people. Essi is very excited about the opportunity to work together with young people on the Reset project and benefitting from their expertise.
Essi co-directs UCL’s Developmental Risk and Resilience Unit and chairs UCL’s strategy for Children and Young People’s Mental Health. She has been involved/is currently active in a number of panels advising on research funding and policy development, including the Early Intervention Foundation’s Expert Panel, European Research Council, Youth Endowment Fund Expert Panel, and UK Department of Health’s 10-year Framework for Mental Health Research.
